I must say I am a gadget nut. If it’s new, if it’s shiny, if it’s technical, I’m all over it.
I got the original Fitbit 8 years ago. It did it’s duty well, enduring many washer and dryer journeys, and being clipped pretty much everywhere until it finally cracked at the joint. Let’s just say I got my moneys worth.
Fitbit by the way, has an excellent warranty. Always contact them first, even out of warranty, they will help you out.
The accuracy is outstanding. In calorie deficits, numbers are always estimates. Fitbit tends to err on the side of caution, therefore if anything, your calorie burn is likely to be less than it actually was. For steps it is very accurate. Entering your own activities has more chance for error, but the heart rate monitor helps accuracy.
The Fitbit Charge 2 HR is multi-faceted. It:
- Counts your steps
- Counts your mileage (Miles Travelled)
- Displays your heart rate
- Evaluates your sleep patterns
- Has small workouts and relaxation exercises built in
- A stopwatch
- Bluetooth notifications for calls/texts
